lyrics

When I was a child, having read Oscar Wilde
I knew I would not be sincere
But now I've grown older, I've broadened my shoulders
And everything seems to be so clear

No child am I, and I mean to imply
That I’m of a dominant mind
This world I have traveled, has slowly unraveled,
But I still refuse to unwind

Though Babel did fall, I'll still give you a call
And just hope that my point gets across
My words may be confused, but I hope you're amused
You know maybe it's you who's at loss

Out in the ocean, I can't see the shore
I've misplaced my boat and my sea legs are sore
Fireworks in the distance, but I know it's not Fourth of July
I've asked all of my questions, till now there's not been a reply

I've come too close to death, and now I must confess
That falling from space is too much
There's a time to be dying, but right now I'm vying
For a place to be treated as such

Whose child am I, I fell from the sky
And I just don't know where to call home
Now I'm battered and bruised, my knots have come loose
And I realize how little I've grown
